It is important to understand the various types of quantities in DesignSmart. For example, let's take a possible scenario:
A client requests a proposal for 2 desk lamps. So you create a proposal for them for 2 desk lamps which they approve.
Then during the project, they request a third desk lamp.
And because your firm just happened to have 2 of the desk lamps in stock, you only need to order one additional lamp.
