You can use DesignSmart to track staff time spent on projects, office meetings, travel time and more.  

Benefits to Tracking Time

It can be tedious to have staff enter their time, but there are real benefits:

a.Timesheets  can be converted into service invoices that are sent to the client.

b.These services invoices can be pushed to QuickBooks.

c.Hours worked by hourly staff can be pushed to QuickBooks payroll.

d.You can track how long projects are actually taking to determine if your return is appropriate.

Tracking Project Time

Staff can enter the time they work on a project either by using a single timesheet or a weekly timesheet. The main difference between the two entry methods is that with the weekly entry it is not possible to change the billing rate for those timesheets that are billable.

Tracking Office Time

The best way to track office time is to create a project for your firm. The name of the project can be anything you like, but typically will be something like "Acme Design Office Time" or simply "Office Time".

This project can be used to track time spent in office meetings or vendor presentations or any time not directly spent on a client project.
