Technical Support > Emailing from DesignSmart | Two Factor Authorization Two Factor Authorization |
Many clients are turning on "Two Factor Authorization", also called "Two Step Authorization", in their email systems for security reasons. Usually this means that when you log in to your email program you'll be sent a text with an access code. So your password is the 1st factor and the text they send you is the 2nd factor of authorization.
This is relevant if you send email out through DesignSmart. If you have turned on Two Factor Authorization in your Outlook or Google email systems, then your old password will no longer work by itself and there is no way for you to enter into DesignSmart the access code they text you.
Fortunately there is a somewhat simple solution and it requires that you get a special "app password" from Outlook or Google. Then you simply enter that password in DesignSmart where you enter your email password.
