We recommend that design firms with 10 or more users consider hosting DesignSmart on their own servers that are located inside their offices. The reason being that because the data will reside a few dozen feet from your computer rather than 1,000 miles away, the system is faster and more responsive.

There are additional costs involved in hosting DesignSmart on your own server: 1) there is the cost of the hardware that is required to host the system; 2) there is a one time cost for setting up your server to run DesignSmart; 3) there is the cost for The Smart Designer support staff to log into the server each week and update the software to the latest version of DesignSmart.
