Purchase Orders | Flag to Order

Flag to Order

Some firms prefer for designers to focus on design and not deal with creating and sending purchase orders. These firms will have bookkeeping staff who process purchase orders. But how can designers effectively communicate to the bookkeeping staff when an item is ready to order? Rare is the firm that has not accidentally ordered the wrong chair or sofa because of a miscommunication.  For these firms, DesignSmart offers a feature called "Flag to Order" that designers can use when they are absolutely sure that the items have the correct information and can be ordered. Designers can flag one item or hundreds of items quickly and easily so they can get back to design. Then the bookkeeping staff can track which items have been flagged and order them.

It is not necessary to "flag items to order" in order to order them.  The steps below are only used by firms that want to use the "Flag to Order" feature.

Flagging items to order follows the same rules as selecting any action in DesignSmart. If you haven't read the section How Actions Work, please do so now.

Once you have selected or filtered down to the items that are ready to order, select the Action Flag to Order.
